Global warming and how we cause it, part 3. The series that continues from my last post and will, in all likelyhood continue well beyond this post. Read the following statement closely.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair is not known for saying such things without serious consideration. So everyone must take pause when they read that statement.
Previously we spoke on the melting ice-caps, glaciers, loosing 40-percent of the worlds drinking water, the dangers to sea traffic and finally flooding, caused by the rising sea level. Today we are going to touch on recycling.
It never fails, you take a drive in most any direction and you shortly come upon garbage. It sets on the curbs in bags, cans, or boxes. It lies on the street, alleys, and highways. People have come so use to seeing it that they hardly even register it being there.
That is truely a sad statement; “People have come so use to seeing it that they hardly even register it being there.” This needs to change. We need to change.
Our dumps continue to grow on a daily basis and what some have failed to realize is “the world we are living on is not growing, its size remains the same.” Once this registers to everyone they to will take pause and see the need to recycle.
Hopefully this information will be absorbed before it is to late to join in the fight. Starting to recycle now will greatly reduce your garbage output and considerably lower your carbon footprint – Which directly affects climate change, global warming and the world.

How We Cause Global Warming -Part-2

In my previous post how we cause global warming we touched on some irrefutable signs of the planet getting warmer. We specifically spoke about the melting ice caps and the serious effect it would have on worlds drinking water supply.
Here we want to mention some other serious results of the global warming we are causing. We spoke on the ice-caps in the previous post but we left out a serious side affect directly related to the melting ice caps and glaciers, besides the loss of drinking water, and that is flooding.
As the once magnificent glaciers melt, they start to break apart and fall into the sea. This creates dangerous obstacles for sea traffic and raises the sea level. But why is this so dangerous?
Because land is a premium considering the earth is mostly water, and this raising sea level encroaches upon this premium land. When you stop and think about it you start remembering that there are alot of cities, all around the world, that are already below sea level.
New Orleans is the first place most Americans will think of and that is just one of the many areas within the United States, but the problem does not just affect the U.S., there are many cities around the world.
To put things in their perspective you would need to know that if these glaciers continue to melt and fall off into the worlds oceans we would be forced to redraw the worlds maps.
Nearly one-third of Netherlands entire country is already below sea level and the flooding has already gotten to such a point that the government held competitions with architects to design floating homes. Sounds like street traffic is made up of boats.
High tide in Polynesia has become something to be feared, as it encroaches upon more and more land, and homes become swept away into the sea. Yet, the Polynesians resist moving away from their homes.
Sounds familiar to the Americans, especially the ones from New Orleans. No one wants to voluntarily leave their home behind. But unless we get in control of the global warming we are causing, this is likely to become a factor of life.

How We Cause Global Warming

A question asked over 9100 times per month on google alone is how is global warming caused and not nearly enough people are answering the hard questions that are being asked. I feel this is an important question and deserves serious answers.
Global warming has made it evident that there are serious climate changes going on. Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa was once known for its snow covered peaks and now there is but sparce snow upon those, once beautifully covered, peaks.
We need not stop there as the snow covered peaks are melting all around the world. Anyone familiar with Glacier National Park in Montana, can attest to this phenomenon as Boulder Glacier, a once beautifully snow covered mountain top, is now little more than a chilly place to enjoy the mountanous views.
But this is happening all over the world. Switzerland is well known for many famous glaciers (e.g. The Tschierva Glacier and, The Rhone Glacier, just to name a couple), and the list of places go on and on. The Upsala Glacier located in Argentina, along with the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Even the Himalayan Glaciers have been seriously affected. The Himalayans stretched across Asia include 14 of the tallest moutains in the world and provide over half the drinking water for 40 percent of the worlds population. This is serious as the drinking water is not easily replaced and a water shortage to over 2.8 billion people seems very likely without serious efforts to correct the causes of the global warming.

Global Warming Defined?

What is global warming? In a nutshell it is climate change that is causing the temperature of our planet to rise. Breaking down what is happening to the environment is a complex thing and a broad overview can help many understand better.
When gasses get trapped in the environment and cannot escape this can cause a temperature increase eventually. Climate change is a natural occurrence and would occur without human activity; however, humans are emitting high levels of carbon dioxide into the environment from man made sources such as cars, homes, appliances, and many other contributing sources.
Although climate change is still considered a controversial subject, many people are starting to realize there is an imminent threat. Popular celebrities are bringing temperature change into the limelight and giving it attention.
Most people know about recycling and car emission reduction, but you need to know who you are doing business with. Make sure that the products you buy are used with recyclable materials and do business with the companies that are supporting the environment. Wind and solar power are getting more attention everyday and more research is being done.
The one thing that is still unknown about climate change is when it will happen. Many experts claim that we are already seeing the affects of temperature change and it is a slow process, however if we keep consuming the way we do we will make global warming become a dangerous situation sooner. It is up to us to do our part to help make future generations safe.
